Don’t expect any handouts and focus on personal sales, generate own revenue, and incubate own pyramid of high performing people. Act like an owner. The name of the firm and branding - think of it like a franchise.

Advice from trusted sources can be more devastating sometimes
Nothing wrong with listening to advice from any source, but in the process, do not ignore your gut feeling. This is the single strongest source of direction that each of us has carved out over the years
Stay grounded and keep your head on straight. While you might feel self important It’s really just a job and you’re not saving lives or making the world a better place for all of us. Watch your habits and give grace to yourself and to others.
Don't confuse effort with results.
Distinguish rapidly between those who tell you "I want to see you succeed" but will not help you at all vs the ones that will. It will make your life a lot more easier when you understand whos taking you seriously vs whos paying you lip service.
Remember, at the partnership/principal level, theres a unspoken of competition where everyone is trying to come out on top, so not everyone is going to be your ally.
