Bain & Company What’s the best way to enter these top consulting companies Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company Bain & Company? Is it best to enter as implementations consultant, strategy, etc? I don’t have much technical background but I do have 4 yrs with MSFT and 2 years as a consultant (Project/Program Manager) for MSFT. I’m young and I want to chase this💰 lol.

Tried and true way is the MBA
I see, thanks M3 and McK2, I appreciate the feedback/advice
All the tech bros looking to get into consulting now, eh?
Chief
Thanks for the breakdown and details LEK
But MSFT is an exit from consulting. Why would you want to give up a cushy job at a great company to have you physical and mental health destroyed in consulting?
This is what I did coming from tech so I respect it.
Apply on the company website, accessed on your computer, then pass the interviews and get an offer.
Did you just post a pic of Hasbulla, the Dagestani dwarf who went viral?
Had to get ppls attention somehow 👍🏻
If you’re just chasing money you’re probably better off getting a masters in Computer Science while you’re still young
SC1 that will never happen, the skillset will remain highly in demand for decades to come even as bloated tech giants cull unprofitable teams + trim add’l fat
Go do a FTMBA
Yeah it’s looking like but just don’t want to wait 2 years while i finish MBA to get into on wait of these companies. Thanks tho i’ll look at my options
Look into roles as a product manager or innovations manager in Bain’s NGSS department. It’s consulting adjacent and may have better ties to your previous experience.
Thanks so much, will definitely do!
@op I took the path you’re thinking about pursuing at your age and it was the worst career decision I’ve ever made in my life. Heed the warnings from others re: exiting to consulting from an exit op.
