If the offer I received is fair, what sort of counter should I do (5, 10, 15%)? The position is one that pays ~$200k so the typical 15% counter seems high. Company is Big 4.

I’m a 2010 grad at a small firm. Pretty happy here but don’t see a future long term due to firm size, and I’m not that interested in client generation. I’m on a new account that has male clients and the other agency leaders are male. I was in a meeting where we arrived in masks but they decided it wasn’t necessary to wear masks since we were all vaccinated. I have stayed masked internally at meetings but I was caught off guard by how the client dynamic influenced me to take mine off when I preferred to keep on. I looked up the stats and men are less likely to wear masks and more likely to find them off putting. Anybody else running into this?

I have an offer from Gartner for PPR team- Principal. Can anyone help me with the team feedback, annual hikes at Gartner. I heard culture and wlb is good, but hikes are lower than 10%. Is that true?

I’m on a 2 month gig with a set project rate. The GCD hit me up saying there’s a new brief they’d like to bring me on and bounce some ideas. I wrote after the kickoff about setting up a new contract since the one I’m on has nothing to do with this new project. Soon after all meetings got canceled saying that the clients are going with a smaller team. Think I dodged a bullet for giving free ideas but wanted to see if it was the right move? Avoid agreeing to future projects?

Partners and MDs, what would you do if your client brings in another consulting firm? And what would you expect your team to do?

My younger brother is a senior graduating in May 2021 with degrees in Business Analytics & Information Systems and Public Health. He’s interested in pursuing a career in Healthcare Consulting. I could use help dealing with my partner’s white privilege guilt around money. I’m an immigrant woman of color that came from poverty and hardship. My husband is white and grew up in a middle class family and will inherit some money. We make enough money combined that we have good savings. I want to enjoy life that I worked so hard for. But my husband feels too guilty to do it with me. He wants to donate almost everything. I agree with some philanthropy but not at his level. Help?

I am considering a move and want to know if they are similar to consulting roles in lack of wlb and constant obsession over creating client relationships or are they real strategy roles? I am good at strategy content etc. but don’t have the nosy attitude to kind of constantly self advocating and networking. Not saying that’s bad it’s just not me.
