What’s your comfy office sweater? I spent the pandemic wearing my law school hoody at home and now I’m searching for a professional version of that to throw over my work clothes when my office gets too cold!

Depending on my mood/how put together I need to look on a given day:
1) firm swag zip-up - very casual but can get away with it because it’s firm branded
2) thick tweed blazer - when I have client meetings
3) jcrew men’s merino wool sweaters - this has been my hack for the last couple years bc these sweaters are way warmer than the women’s versions, less expensive, and they have plenty of options that are gender neutral enough that I can femme them up with the rest of my outfit.

J crew factory (possibly regular j crew) also has a sweater blazer that I bought for this exact reason

Second the sweater blazer. Keep a black one on my chair in my office

My go-to for years was my black fleece north face zip up. It finally got a hole in it and I’ve been meaning to replace it. I like that it’s plain black and sort of has a collar.

Any info on when the discussions for mid-year promotion are happening? I understand that ppl will get to know between November 11-15.

Just wondering if any Junior designers feel the same but I work as the only graphic designer in a small digital marketing agency and lately there isn't any new projects and work coming in at least in my "department". No one is really touching base on anything but I'm still getting paid a salary ($42k/y). I worry that they may just cut me off any time soon since I feel I haven't been contributing as much as I want despite reaching out for any new requests. Thought?

Don’t get scammed. I saw an ad for vending machines that dispense hot coffee, from The Caffeine Dream. Sounds like a cool idea, and they offered placement of the machines for a one time fee. but I asked this “Chris Mateli” where. He was evasive at first and was rude when I had someone with my company call to ask. Eventually he gave me the locations before buying the machines which, of course, I couldn’t verify for placement. They had no idea about these machines because they never ordered them.

Anyone here moved from Chicago to ATX? Currently in Chicago and considering making the move. I love Chicago and the general vibe here, but it's impossible to buy a home in the city that isn't a condo with a crazy HOA. I've visited Austin as a tourist but never spent more than a long weekend.

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?
