What’s your personal ‘unwritten rule’ about food at work—like microwave smells, desk snacking, or stealing a fry from a coworker’s lunch? 😄

Oof another reason I’m glad I work from home. I almost forgot about the office kitchen and Karen’s complaining about what someone else is snacking on.

My rule is to not eat at work, period. No snacks, no meals, just coffee and water. It keeps me from boredom eating and forces me to actually leave the office on my lunch break, both of which are very good things for me.

That sounds like a binge eating disorder waiting to bloom.

Always share with colleagues if you bring something special

Baked goods yes. Regular food? Nah

I have a strange shift, I work from 4 AM to 2 PM. So I typically try to only eat a light breakfast during my workday. And then eat at home when I'm done. It helps me not overeat and gain weight with a pretty sedentary job.

I would never bring in fish, otherwise, regular manners apply. Like never eating someone else’s food, etc

Let the holidays commence!

Sweet nose, but then a hit of savory spice on the tongue with an insanely long finish that is all cigar.

I wouldn’t drink this with a cigar, because you wouldn’t notice it, but it’s insane how much that finish lingers and mimics the mouth tingle after smoking a cigar.

Parents are deciding between moving to WVirginia vs Virginia at retirement to be closer to us based in fairfax (ideally be at 1 hour driving distance). They currently in the mid west but WVirginia appeals to them because of low taxes, low cost of living. We are also poc so appreciate some diversity.

What are some areas you would recommend both in Va and WV? What else should they consider prior to house hunting? Dad likes to garden/farm as well so looking for homes with large backyards. Tia!

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

User experience mgr salary? I support six product teams and eight reports. 20+ years experience

Is anybody here a notary? And how much are you making from that? Is it a potential side-hustle?

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.
