I typically wait until my closet and dresser are overflowing and then go on a rampage getting rid of everything I haven't worn recently. And then I buy new clothes to fill up all the new closet space, rinse and repeat 😂
My closet and dresser are definitely overflowing 😂
I turn my clothes hangers around every year, whatever hasn’t been worn needs to go in the donate bag. Being realistic about the things I like versus the clothes I am actually going to wear. My church has donation drives so usually wait for that to give the decent ones a new home!
If it hasn't been worn in the past year, it's gotta go. Someone else could be getting good use out of it.
What about the clothes you don’t wear anymore?

The Lupus Foundation does neighborhood pickups so now that I’m on their list, they email me monthly and say they’ll be in my neighborhood if I have a donation. I usually decide what to purge as I’m switching out my clothes for the seasons. I purge vacation clothes every winter.
Any of my high-quality clothes get listed on Poshmark, especially if they are new with tags. It's shocking how much I buy and never wear 😅 Everything else gets bagged up and taken to the local women's shelter that has a charity shop attached. I live in a pretty small apartment so it's easy to know when I'm due to sort through everything.
