When onboarding is rushed or minimal, it sets employees up to fail. What’s the worst onboarding experience you’ve had?

I came into a role as an experienced seion (acting manager level) and was thrown into trainings with interns. Our job is vastly different and the training was crap for what I was to be doing. I tried figuring things out on my own and made suggestions to the team doing onboarding of how to improve the process (this company has a history of high experienced hire turnover). Once I shared my suggestions they completely ignored me as if I didn't know what I was talking about and continue onboarding the same way to other experienced hires.
And guess who's also now looking for a new job? Me!

Yeah, I can see that, but the frustration is that partners tell me they want my ideas and perspective and say to share it with the managers but the managers are the ones basically saying 'put your head down, don't talk, just work.'

That seems to be the way now. Here’s your laptop.

Oh exactly! It’s so stupid

Coming into a role where I had, along with everyone on my team, more work than all of us could handle. I was told to shadow appear for a day and then I was off on my own. Did that set me up for failure? Absolutelybut I figured it out and will do so going forward. I also came up with an on boarding program, but was never given credit for it.

Doesn’t happen anymore because I make sure I put my name all over everything!

My current job, I literally wasn’t trained in much

That’s so annoying, I’m sorry about that

I didnt have a computer and was fired after several hours of work for not performing lol.

I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 5 years of experience in an acute care setting. I, also, have a bachelor’s in healthcare administration. I use EPIC at work everyday and I am interested in working as an EPIC analyst. I have applied at my facility numerous times for these positions with no luck. What advice would you all give for getting into this position? Also, do you know any remote positions available that I could apply to outside of the facility I’m currently at? Thanks!
