When you're pitching ideas to clients, do you (leadership roles on the bowl) usually sit back, or do you prefer to be the one presenting the content of the deck? A lot of times when junior designers or ACDs present, I feel the need to jump in and phrase what they're saying better, but I always just let it go. We've never had a client turn down any of our decks, so I guess I have no reason to be agitated, but how do you suggest I address this? Their communication skills aren't an easy fix ...

Why not encourage junior designers or ACDs to rehearse their presentations in front of you or other team members? I think it will both help the team refine their delivery and build confidence as well as lets you cross-check if they're missing out on anything or need to drop something.

If a junior is presenting, I def need a dry run to know it’s wise, and to properly coach. If it’s working, the most senior creative actively on the project should be the voice of reinforcement, peppering in why it’s a smart idea / buyable. If it isn’t working, then that senior creative should be presenting.

All for juniors growing those skills, but the preso is the sale. Can’t let it get fucked up.

There's nothing wrong with having people do a run-through first and give them some notes. It's especially useful if people tend to make the same mistakes repeatedly, that's the time to correct it. It's good not to jump in while they're presenting to a client, but a little direction can always be helpful.

AT&T: HBO-MAX is probably top 3 stream platforms along with netflix and disney plus. Despite this AT&T trades at a super low multiple. Is this the next glow-up a la Disney this past month? I think so. They've already got an extensive library and have consistently over 20 years delivered the best shows on TV, period. I understand that the core AT&T business may seem like a "liability" to the valuation but I still think that their valuation doesn't make sense. What am I missing?

I work in field sales as an IC. My aspirational career path is to end up in people leadership. Recently, an Inside management position opened up that’s been brought to my attention by the hiring director. Question is, is going back Inside the right move to get into started in leadership? Or should I continue down the field path and wait until those field management slots open up?

I’ve been told my company is changing my title from Associate Director of BD to Sales Executive. I’m concerned it reads like a title demotion. Is it just semantics? How will this look for my career development? Curious about the standard perception of Sales Executive from a seniority perspective. Where does this land on the sales roles hierarchy? For context, it’s a professional services firm, I’ve been there 3+years, and they gave a Sales Executive title to someone who just started 5mo ago.
