#5 is the best set up for what I do.

#3 is ideal

I have #3 but would rather have #8.

like

It’s 8 with 2 additional vertical monitors, no other answer is correct

like

Number 2 with 2 stacked laptops on the left side, one of them on a stand. Single keyboard and single mouse control all.

like

3 for me

like

2 with another smaller monitor underneath

like

Somewhere between 2 and 4. I currently use 2 with my laptop screen folded toward me.

Ideal would be 2 with a vertical screen next to it.

like

2 for me. What is the benefit of vertical screens like 4 and 8?

For coding

like

6 or bust.

3

3

#3 all the way!

1

2 assuming very high definition and taller than vertical in 4 or 8

Post Photo

Does anyone here actually have 6 and can advise me why I would need it. I’m a 5 rn

I think anything more than two monitors is excessive unless you code

I currently have #3 but prefer #4

Inverse of #8. Tall in the middle (coding), and wide on either side.

I prefered 1-3 with my laptop screen opened.

2 or 5

I’ve been working for a company for 25yrs, looking for advancement. I’m considered an SME, managing people, Vendors and working on large system conversions. Have provided long term goals. When requesting feedback I’m told I’m on the right path, no suggestions on what to improve. I asked about timelines for advancement and not being given anything concrete. Recently interviewed with another company as a Vendor Mgmt partner. Individual contributor, high visible position with potential. Thoughts?

Scheduling added another S3 (my level) to my engagement but acting as a manager, while I’ve been on this engagement for a few years and getting great reviews. My ego is shot and I’m insulted. Advice?

When you budget for your engagements, what percentage of staff time is your budgeted manager time? I have always heard manager time should be about 50% of staff time but now leadership is pushing back. I have found the 50% to reflect reality. Managers don't reperform the work but have to do a detailed review. Thoughts?

Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?

(1/2) Hi all, based in the UK 🇬🇧, would appreciate your advice on how I could break into product management.

Context: Graduated in 2019 (Finance), 2 years at EY as a business consultant on mix of pmo projects and tech projects where I was developer (data vis, power platform, sql, vba, data analysis etc.). Joined Google on a 6 month contract as a data analyst.

Should I be applying for product analyst roles? Should I apply for strategy consulting? Could I go straight for prod mgmt roles?
