I’m a new call looking for the first legal job. I was offered to work in a small firm with decent salary, but I am not sure if this is a right step. I wanted to work in a larger more reputable company, but I was not offered anything else yet. I am okay to look for a few months, but at the same time I don’t want to have a big gap between articling and first job. Is it better to accept what is offered now, although not in my area of interest, or keep looking?

Hi all—sorry this might be a bit personal or tmi, but I started big law about a year ago, which has been incredibly stressful etc. since then, I’ve noticed that my cycle has gone haywire, I miss periods or getting multiple the same month, there’s just no predictability anymore. I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this before? Does it get better/does your body adjust to the stress or will this just be my life now?

Parents are poor/middle income with no assets, little retirement, and may be reliant on me in future. I’ve had 100k of their savings in my high yield savings account for the past few years which they gave me to save for them in the case they try to buy a house in the future. I’ve kept it in savings to keep it liquid but interest rates are terrible. Where would you keep this money or invest it for better returns but to keep it fairly liquid?
