Hello! I’ve been at the insurance company I work for, for 8 years. I did 3 years in sales, 2 in customer service and the last 3 years as a learning and development training specialist. I feel my company is undervaluing me. Any advice ?

Hey! I’ve worked in L&D for many years, as well as management roles.

In what way is the company making you feel undervalued?

Anyone here who made the exit from Big 4/MBB consulting to a VC? If so, I’d love to hear about how the experience is so far. (Not to mention the WLB and comp!) I’m considering a career change but have no one in my network I can go to for insights. Thx! 🙏🏾

I come from a pure healthcare background and have minimal finance skills/experience. Want to eventually get in healthcare investing in a MM PE fund.

Is there anyway that I can start to make moves on this, while at my Big 4? Who are the best types of folks to reach out to at my Big 4?

Hi all, I’m in need of some career advice. Not sure where to direct my attention. I know that I don’t enjoy consulting, but I’m also fairly confident that I don’t like strategy. The things I enjoyed the most was getting into the customer’s head and figuring out what they value, which I think I’m pretty good at. I also enjoy working with others frequently and finding a solution together, instead of having individual workstreams. I can hold my own in front of a crowd as long as I’m confident in...

Reposting from HR bowl: I’ve heard there is a hiring boom, especially for L&D roles. I was let go recently from a toxic environment (removed the company from everything) after only 4 days of work. I’m actively job searching but not receiving ideal hits. I see a lot of senior level L&D roles but not as many for specialist roles, specifically in tech. I have 5.5 years of experience. Any advice for me? I’m also seeking therapy for the trauma & coping, now ready for securing that next role!

Need some benchmarks: What would average/good survey results be for a leadership skills class (instructor-led)? We ask for the participant’s experience (did you like it, would you recommend, etc.), and also send an impact survey out 2 months later to their manager (have you seen positive behavior changes since training). Our experience survey is at 92% positive and impact to behaviors is at 83% positive. Anything I can compare to in order to share the story with leadership?

I'm planning a group session for one of Sr Leader Development programs. The theme is 'Lead like an Entrepreneur - Leaders take an owner’s mindset – doing what’s best for the enterprise and executing their roles like they own the business.

It's more than a week now and I haven't heard back. Can anyone shed light on the process -- what to expect, timelines, what is the interview process like, etc.

Thanks!

I applied for an L&D position with Deloitte about 2 months. It still says my application is in review. Any tips or suggestions? I tried reaching out on LinkedIn to a few people but haven’t heard back.
