Why did they feel so comfortable making comments or questioning about our hair? All the information available and you still choose look at us like we’re exotic creatures. This isn’t the 1800s. Don’t they have any home training or is this some entitlement? Then get offend bc they didn’t like the rebuttal to their inappropriate comments.

I like to think that they are just curious, but it really is insulting to be treated like a petting zoo animal. Like... bruh... You are not entitled to lay hands on my hair. I don't mind the questions, though. I love talking about my black culture, and many people, especially old people, tell me they wish their hair was as thick as mine.

funny

I had a patient one time who asked me if I could straighten my hair for her. She said she wanted to see what I looked like with straight hair. I told her that I liked my hair natural, and that I didn't want to straighten it. She got all offended and said, "But you'd look so much better with straight hair!" Crazy times.

funny

“Like my hair”. The silliness of thinking it’s going to drastically change. Smdh.

Girl... Don't get me started. And when they put their fingers through it, I'm ready to take off my earrings.

Now that’s a complete heLL noo. Don’t your azz touch nothing on me. My husband is white and he knows don’t touch my 👑.

I felt very uncomfortable bc it was a man and was too comfortable. I saw this and decided to retort. That ended the hair comments. He actual acted confused by my response.

That’s rude as rude. My white husband doesn’t get why I get offended by a white coworkers, patients, or his family having any kinda comments/ compliments about my hair. If they were actually giving a genuine compliment, it would acceptable.

Some people really be curious and ignorant. They may not have much exposure to people with different hair types than their own. Others may be more malicious they may be trying to make us feel uncomfortable or to assert their dominance it's really annoying like 😒

Honey I eat microaggressions like these for breakfast all the time like can I get something else please?? Anything at all? And you better not put your hands near my hair.

Anyone know of a good building for a 1bed/1bath. Need to have parking & a/c. Nice to haves is in-unit laundry, any include utilities, any amenities. Trying to keep it on the cheaper end with a max rent of 1,500, but given our line of work I can bump that up if the place is nice enough to justify the cost. Thanks in advance!

Hey folks. I'm looking @ dir-level People Operations / PM or Chief of Staff roles. Industry agnostic but interested in one that's social impact focused or innovative.

Curious what that pays in CAD? I make equivalent to $145K CAD as an an Account Director / PM and Client Operations Lead at a mid-sized US-based PR/Digital comms company, with 6 yrs of exp managing multiworkstream teams and multimillion dolllar projs.

Grateful for any leads too. My network is US-based so this all new for me!
