Anyone know anything about what it’s like to work plaintiff-side? Would it be dumb for someone with stellar credentials to leave biglaw for plaintiffs’ side work?

Nobody has really ever explained much about this side of private practice to me. From what I can tell based on my experience:
(1) their cases are usually really weak (maybe my biglaw defense-side bias)
(2) their lawyers tend not to be as highly credentialed
(3) would offer better experiences for junior litigators

I feel like a lot of my colleagues who have been working for a year and a half or two years are going to new firms, breaking commitments with government agencies, etc. Is this normal? I plan on staying with my firm a long time, if the money is right and the future is bright.

Just got into a full time grad program for international affairs that starts in January of 2021. (completely changing careers). I need to stay working at my firm until then and possible after to get the billable hours for my CPA. I passed all 4 exams and I refuse to give let that go to waste...... how do I tell my employer I'll be going to school in a way that they'll still let me work part time? As of now, I’m on FMLA. As a department lead, I was led to believe that I would return to my role after my leave. Seeking direction in selecting the most cost effective and fastest route to become an MLS. I have a international STEM BSc (2014), 3 years of research lab experience, 1 year hospital lab experience and 2.5 years veterinary diagnostics experience. I live in Michigan and was told by two schools that my credits have to be less than five years old but I think they are trying to get me to pay more by staying in school for four years. Moved from Canada and I have to say, big pharma in the US might very well be the devil himself. In Canada, medications that cost $30-$40, are hundreds of dollars here. Honestly thinking of leaving the field because I can't stomach the corruption.

Do you think Black folks in healthcare would serve in more leadership roles if we were more proactive about going after promotions? Most of the Black admins I know at my job go above and beyond, are loved by everyone and seem like they'd be perfect for promotion but that's not what I'm seeing happen.
