Hi Fishers, I have accepted Walmart offer and my BGV has started 3 weeks ago. How do I check my BGV status? I will be joining in mid May. Also, I have been hiding one of the company where I had worked for 45 days and then absconded due to personal issues. Would it create any trouble? They had created my PF account though. Any help would be highly appreciated

Same reason you need a college diploma to apply to jobs that never touch what you learn in the classroom
💯
In my experience is easy to train a person something they are already familiar with instead of teaching them something they have never seem before…I need to train a group of people how to use macros in excel an Iam struggling with the onces that don’t even know how to copy and paste 😩😩
Jeeesus
Yo - it should be a minimum.
I have a guy that insist in managing everything in PowerPoint _ and we fight every week about it. I created a sharepoint list - and that feeds powerbi and power app … nothing. Guys a waste. Excel should be a minimum at this point.
Exactly, automate everything, while keeping a single source of truth for stakeholders, enables us to get home sooner and do other life things.
Speak for yourself buddy.
I’m a tech consultant and data conversion in excel is no joke. 😓
Preach! 😂
Actual answer: it’s just a selection device.
There are just too many candidates that meet the minimum job requirements so they must find ways of weeding candidates out and this is one of them.
lol! During the interview process the emphasis on excel was huge! I kept saying “it’s hard to show you want I know without you giving me a situation that I could explain how I would solve for it”
The interviewer stared me down, I swear gave me a karate movie “hmm” like they were about to attack.
Long story short - all they needed was a conditional formatting 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Do you have a list of options to best learn excel that you all learn through?
Use it daily if possible and try to learn different ways of doing same stuff. Also, always look to optimize, automate the process, that makes you learn alot.
Being well versed in Excel is an invaluable tool for urgently requested ad hoc projects. They do not need to be 100% perfect [nothing in life is], however being able to flip these kinds of requests on the fly is super invaluable. It might depend on the role and industry how much you use Excel, but it ticks the box in the application process.
At least, from my perspective in business this is the gold standard of software because of the aforementioned and the fact that it is very user friendly so you can pick up on little things here and there that result in huge time savings/efficiency over time. You never know where a company may be heading and being able to increase your toolset, even just in Excel is seen as a huge advantage by your managers and by the decision makers/stakeholders of the analysis/report, etc. in Excel.
I don't have an answer for this but when speaking with HR about my current role, I was told they were looking for someone proficient in Excel and there would be a test.
During my interview, I told them I have Excel experience but could benefit from training. I used the "I have qualities that can't be taught."
Now that I’ve written a few job posts in my career, I understand that a lot of people just put everything they can possibly think of that might be useful for the person that takes this role. That’s why I don’t worry about minimum qualifications in job posts anymore.
All of the above and if I were hiring for someone with quant skills I’d want to know they know excel well. I think it indicates that they have a lot of experience dealing with and quickly digesting a lot of data.
Cause they copy and paste the job description from YT
Lol I have the opposite problem, my company doesn’t hire anyone with excel skills. Drives me nuts, it should 100% be a required minimum.
Low level accounting and administrative.
Easier to have those skills and not need them than to not have them and need them. Also, using excel proficiently is a great indicator on how to parse data quickly for a multitude of tasks.
I actually do use Excel a lot in my job. Lol.
