Tata Consultancy I am a manager in Capgemini... have an offer frm TCS. the designation being offered is Assistant Consultant.. 9.8 years experience( 5 yrs with Cap) Even though I am getting a package of 25Lakhs.. it seems like a demotion in designation.. Cg has offered to match upto 23.5 lakhs.. Is it worth moving to TCS on this grade? My primary reason for moving out of Cg is i m bored of beauocracy and WLB at current project. Because there are not many jobs and I continue to hear really REALLY high level people say (lie) - AI is creating jobs and you don’t need to be afraid because AI can’t take your job - people who know HOW TO USE AI will take your job.
All semi-truths that are actually lies when in comes to the employee. We already know - AI - I haven’t seen it creating jobs here, and I don’t know anyone who has. AI allows the same lazy C-Level talking heads another easy way to send your job to a low cost country. C Level dude doesn’t know much about it either, they just know that they can task someone else to use AI to take your job and call it a wonderful transformation.
I tell all young people who will listen, learn a trade. AI can’t fix your car, your HVAC, your electricity and wiring, refinish or build custom cabinetry, cut your hair, give you a makeover, etc.
But if you work in corporate - they’re going to use AI to take your job. It’s not even a question. Be careful about how people tell the truth. It may BE creating a job in Bangladesh or something but not for you.
