I’m 90% remote work. I do mostly systems design, some mild mechanical design and lots of technical writing. Most of my time is spent of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Confluence.

like

I personally don’t work remote but a fair share of our office does. Consulting structural engineering mostly residential, multifamily.

Design engineering, mostly Solidworks, models, drawings, project management, set up and slice file generation of metal 3D printing slice files

I work as a freelance engineer, doing contract work for various companies. I usually work from home, although I sometimes go to their office if needed.

Design engineering and consulting

I work as a transportation engineer for a consulting firm, 90% at home. I mostly write reports and use simulation software such as VISSIM/Synchro to compliment my traffic studies.

Hi everyone, I am getting ready for a job interview, and need to create a media plan. I was hoping someone can help me with the next task: basically, I need to create inventory recommendation based on past performance. What I am very confused about is that they gave me Booked Impressions (=4M), but in the task it says I should assume there is unlimited inventory. Am I supposed to use this 4M only to calculate spend, ROAS, etc., but can actually have unlimited allocated impressions? Thank you!

Writing annual goals. What are examples of how to write “quantifiable” goals as a consultant? Are you measuring number of relationships built, projects, or something else?

Most of consulting is advising on solutions to problems, but I don’t control the outcome, whether the advice is implemented, or the budget. Sales is easy (e.g. “sell $2M of products/services this year”) because there is a clearly defined measurement. What can consultants measure?

SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? This just happened to me and the sheer amount of effort that is going to go into collecting all the documents almost makes me not want to follow through. Since I didn’t finish undergrad, they’re asking for a copy of my high school diploma or transcript and that itself is going to be an absolute nightmare to get hold of. Guess I’m not really looking for a solution here, just venting.

I've noticed that my coworkers tend to work more on their own than with others, even when they're all in the office. Is this normal?
