Why is the stock market bleeding today?

I am 22 and a few months into my first job and so far, I have only started investing in Roth IRAs, 401k, and certificates of deposits… I am trying to take steps to get into passive income (stocks, bonds, etc.) but, I am not sure of the best way to start… Any advice on investing for beginners?
