I’ve been on PIO for 5 weeks now and never had pain. I ice for 3-4 minutes first and don’t even feel the needle go in, and then do 10 squats/take a 5 min walk after while massaging the spot and don’t feel soreness (sometimes a little tender to the touch but no ‘pain’). I also have a thicccc butt so I’m not sure if that helps create some padding 😝
I’d say count yourself lucky!

I had pain in two ways:
Sometimes the injection site hurt - the physical discomfort of big needle going into my butt. Some sites were ok, some hurt. Best way to minimize this is to numb the site with ice for 1-2 minutes first.
Over time, I got knots in some places where I’d recently injected. Best way to prevent I’d to inject slowly (take a minute or so to dispense), sit on heating pad and massage site after.
Best wishes for your fertility journey!
Thank you. Long journey.
My pain comes in terms of soreness in the muscle about 12 hrs later. Sometimes I can hardly walk with how stiff it is. It usually goes away in 2 days, just in time for the next shot 🙄
Excellent job!! The first few injections were the easiest, from a pain perspective. It gets 10,000 times harder after you’re injecting in the same area week after week…the entire area gets knotted up and then it will start to hurt and massaging the area afterwards will be super important.
Good luck!!
Agree! My husband rotates from left to right upper quadrant. Over time the pokes and the injection hurt a little more after each one. Even now being 14 weeks along, feel like my bum still has numbness from all the injections.
Now makes me wonder if I did something wrong. But watched the instructions again and I seem to have done it right. She feels nothing.

So is feeling like your butt is bruised and pain/soreness normal? Or a sign we should do more measures to resolve? I’m on day 2 and woke up from pain last night multiple times.
