With the possibility of more delays in contract awards or starts, we’re starting to look at contingency plans. Curious what others are doing, are you lining up bridge work, diversifying into commercial clients, or something else entirely? Would love to hear how folks are planning ahead while we wait on DC.

We’re lining up short-term subcontracting work just to keep folks billable while we wait. Not ideal, but it helps avoid losing talent. Also starting to scope commercial pilots where we can repurpose some of our federal tech.

My firm has applied for my L1A visa. If that gets denied, my plan is to travel to Canada and re enter US immediately on B1/B2 visa (already have valid B1/B2 stamp) so that I'll get time to figure out things here in the US (sell my stuff, handle my bank accts etc). Is it possible for me to reenter US on tourist visa?

Do Leidos, SAIC, and other mostly-fed consulting businesses pay bonuses to all levels? If so, what does a typical bonus target look like? Booz Allen does not pay bonuses until you get to the Senior Associate level (1 step below Director) and I think that impacts employee performance and work ethic pretty dramatically. I’m wondering if not paying bonuses is common to federal contracting because of how the contracts or priced, or if this is something unique to Booz Allen.
