Word on the street is Baker Botts ordered everyone back in the office 5 days a week starting in March. Can anyone confirm?

That was just for legal secretaries. Attorneys are still 3 days a week in office officially, but in reality no one cares

Nope. Still a hybrid schedule that isn’t really being enforced.

No one at BB comes in from what I hear on the attorney side.

Baker Botts ordered their secretaries in Texas to RTO 5 days a week. While I’m sure they’d love to force everyone back to the office, the firm knows they’d bleed attorneys—more than they are already—if they tried forcing the attorneys back, especially given that their reputation is in the gutter and morale is low right now. Already seen 4 departures this month and the month isn’t over yet.

It’s post-bonus payment, so not surprising that people are moving on. Departures will slow down.

like

Did Baker Botts also announce special bonuses but then obfuscate how said bonuses were actually obtained?

I am an Audit S1 that wants to work in a B4 Forensics practice. Would it be best for me to accept an offer in Forensics at a much smaller firm (local, 150ish total employees) to gain experience and then try to move to B4 Forensics? Or should I stay in Audit and wait for B4 Forensics positions to open up? Please let me know your thoughts!

I see a lot of Jr. Level folks (myself included) in this bowl asking about certain finance exit opps like MM IB and PE etc.

At some point is the comp that much better?

From Big4 Transparency: S1/MCOL/2YOE/FDD making $97k. Managers MCOL close to $150k.

very Selective jobs( MF PE and BB IBs) kinda blow these numbers out of the water... but for the more attainable exits like MM IB and and corporate development... considering wlb and pay, is the grass much greener?

Hey team! So I was laid off from my SDR position about a week ago. A couple months back, I had an offer for a BDR position that I ended up turning down but I really liked and connected with the manager. Is it worth it to reach out? I applied to other positions in the same company. What about reaching out to previous co workers at a different company? Not sure how to navigate this… please help. Also I’m sorry if this is the wrong bowl to post in.

I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. He’s leaning transactional, but also open to litigation. Any insights/advice on these firms in the TX market? Any to avoid?
