Without asking or confirming, account lead booked an in-person client meeting that requires travel. Who books ~any~ major client meeting without first checking with the team ?

I am an Audit S1 that wants to work in a B4 Forensics practice. Would it be best for me to accept an offer in Forensics at a much smaller firm (local, 150ish total employees) to gain experience and then try to move to B4 Forensics? Or should I stay in Audit and wait for B4 Forensics positions to open up? Please let me know your thoughts!

very Selective jobs( MF PE and BB IBs) kinda blow these numbers out of the water... but for the more attainable exits like MM IB and and corporate development... considering wlb and pay, is the grass much greener?

Do most firms start reporting years in September or January? Prior firm did an August year for counting hours and then another did January (both Amlaw 200). I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. Thus far, he’s landed interviews with (all in Houston): Baker Botts, Sidley Austin, Kirkland, Winston Strawn, Reed Smith, Norton Rose, and Locke Lord. Also Perkins Coie in Dallas. My options are 1) wait it out where I am in hopes to switch to L&E or 2) in house oil and gas industry transactional work. What would you do and why?
