Agreed with A1. Hours and stress went up, but luckily I landed with a good group under a super chill partner. Expectations are high but it’s not crazy
Yes. The work and demands picked up significantly - but I've found it manageable once you develop a relationship with partners/seniors you enjoy working with. Not all biglaw is built the same (nor is everyone's career aspirations the same) but firms that have the work stream being driven by the office you're working in (vs NY etc) seem to create an easier culture to adapt to based on my experience and that of some of my friends who have done the same.
$ increase, free time decreases. BL is BL, Texas or anywhere else. It’s not NY, but it’s doesn’t mean you don’t work just as hard at times. Usually better outward firm culture though (compared to NY)
