Working with recruiters from different generations has been interesting. Some prefer direct conversations and focus on experience, while others rely more on AI-driven screening and data. Neither approach is necessarily better, but the interaction and hiring process can feel very different. Have you noticed differences in how recruiters approach hiring in tech?

The majority of recruiters I've dealt with are usually within a few years out of college and trying to get some kind of career going. They don't understand tech and are just trying to match buyers with sellers.

I would be surprised if any recruiter, regardless of generation don’t use data or systems. ATS has been around for decades. I don’t know what recruiter has time to have a direct conversation with everyone. They decide to have a conversation after ATS has done its job.

I definitely prefer the people first companies that actually use human beings to do their interviews. I’m all for using AI in the workplace but using it for an interview it’s just dehumanizing.

I received an offer for 80k to work as a desktop engineer for TCS at one of their client’s locations. However, I have seen poor reviews for working at TCS and I’d like to get some feedback from anyone currently or had previously worked for that company. What is the environment like and has anyone been in a situation where the contract with TCS and the client ended and had trouble with TCS finding them a new role at the same pay?

I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.

I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.

Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.

I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.
