If it gets you out of a soul-crushing job and a 20% raise, I don’t know why you even have to ask.
Rising Star
Seems like a step down in prestige and a big step down in colleague quality. Why not wait for something at a firm you can be proud of?
Stay with ACN. Capgemini has been very hypocritical of themselves within the past year. A quick news search will make that clear. They also love making excuses for lack of raises, promotions, and work-life-balance.
Yes to this!!! Things haven’t been good here at Invent at all. Full speed chaos, lack of leadership accountability, and what seems to be monthly direction change. You either have to be French or identify as French to make it. And Accenture people have a very bad reputation here. They usually don’t last long. No one really plays nice with them or gets them involved with important deals and the list goes on and on … I am looking to leave
I’d take it. $285 is into L5 territory for sure and probably L4. Just make sure you’re getting a comparable number of vacation days and that you’ve accounted for 401k match in your math. Accenture is cheap with pto and holidays but generous with the match
I’d recommend reaching out to potential colleagues at Capgemini and get their opinions. LinkedIn is a wonderful tool for that. I can’t speak for the firm you’re at, but the grass is rarely greener.
If you don’t like the project you’re on, I would find a way to get on another. If you want a pay bump, I would most certainly leverage your offer from Cap to see what you can get.
I spent 18 months at Capgemini Invent... I'd stick with ACN
Lots of ex- Accenture folks running the show... Folks who didn't make it at ACN.
Multiple rounds of layoffs while I was there from 21-23
We competed well on deals where the client had a presence in Europe, but not well against US centric businesses
Do it. Don’t look back.
Definitely not.. lower prestige and the amount of raise is not worth restarting of building your relationships and network. It seems you go along well with your leaders if you are in top three. It will definitely take more than 3 years for you to get promoted from SD while you get minimal raises during that period (you are coming at higher end)
Stay at ACN.
Neither.
Grass is not greener. It is a French TCS. Stay at Accenture.
