That article seems pretty accurate. I've talked to recruiters who say a problem they've seen lately are candidates who just have a lack of enthusiasm. It's puzzling, you'd think they'd know enough to at least make a show of being enthused. But if they don't seem to care, there's probably little chance anyone would hire them.
This makes sense, there are mistakes I also make, but I am always early for interviews! This helps me calm down for sure.
Most of these are fairly obvious, the too-early arrival being the only real exception. Showing up a half hour early is excessive. Agree, around 10 minutes is the sweet spot there. I get to companies super early and then just wait around before I go in.
Embarrassingly enough, I've done a lot of these. Probably not all, but a good amount. Thanks for the read.
Wow, I definitely didn't know that showing up too early to an interview was a bad thing. Thank you for sharing this. I have been doing several of these things as well. Time to change some things up.
I think the rule of thumb is 15 minutes early. Anything more than that you’re kind of an awkward burden for the hiring manager. How soon are you getting to your interview interviews?
