Had a recruiter tell me that investment firms only give 24 hours for you to accept an offer - is this true? It seems crazy to me

I applied for a job at Embark about a week ago - should I be worried that I haven't heard back? How long does it usually take to hear back from a company after applying online? It's been a while since my last job search and I don't want to get too worked up after only a week if I don't need to.

I work as a membership manager in a tech-related, non-profit startup.Main tasks are taking care of members activities (newsletters, webinars, surveys, CRM - but not directly sales) and at the same time I am kind of a IT project manager without IT background, I design with an IT agency members experience with different tools (members platform, crm workflows etc).
