Hey all, I’ve been working at Deloitte (federal) for 4 months now at the analyst level doing the typical analyst work, like building decks. The original company I wanted to work for had to rescind my offer back in March due to COVID. They’re hiring again and want me to join. It’s a boutique consulting firm, I’ll be apart of the cyber risk team. Which was what I originally wanted to do. My questions are: should I take the offer if the pay is the same? Will Deloitte blacklist me? What’s the st
best advice for someone looking to transition from consulting into tech? Was laid off recently from consulting and have around 1 yr of experience, but haven’t seen many entry-level strategy roles in tech — do folks have any advice?

Just as an idea, this new Lincoln Project ad is bananas. To make Trump the audience for an anti-Trump ad—to tell him to be MORE paranoid....to understand the thing he’d hate the most is other people making money, or looking good on TV....to try to make him eat himself from the inside....it’s kind of evil but so unexpected. Alright guys: s3 making 82k in audit at a mid size firm. If I was at s different firm, I would have had potential to be promoted to manager this past year (here we have 3 yrs as staff before senior). I function as a manager as most engagements, have been with my firm since I joined the workforce, and am a great resource for teaching new hires technical skills needed at my firm. How would you negotiate a raise to $100k in these strange times?

The upside of this last year is agencies are finally open to remote workers, even after people start going back to offices. Sure, there are some old school Directors that still aren’t open to it. But most are. At least for some roles. Really a win-win for employees and agencies since we can search across the U.S. now.
I was laid off back in January and have been on the job hunt since. I’ve been lucky enough to make it to the final round for a few different companies... but ultimately did not receive an offer. Starting to have a hard time keeping my head up... any other fish in a similar situation?

However, I started right before COVID-19, and have been working remote, however feel like I don’t ever have enough work, it’s been slow to say the least the past couple months. Is this normal or should I start looking to make a move in early 2021?
For those who have been laid off, what does it look like right before? (like HR schedules a meeting with you?). I have this really bad pit in my stomach. No trolling or sarcastic stuff please.
