It’s restructuring season. KPMG, GT, and other firms have begun announcing layoffs. Everyone should take some time to polish off their resume. It’s a cold world out there and loyalty means nothing to …
When you join thinking GT has "unlimited PTO", but you were pressured not to take any for two years and now you're laid off with no PTO payout.
Deloitte is laying off 5% of US workforce. KPMG Australia voluntarily took a pay cut to help with expenses. GT has laid off roughly 50 underperforming/under utilized employees.. how’s everyone else do…
I am curious to see the number of new Grant Thornton PPMD promotees for 2019 once they are made public, in light of all of the recent layoffs and office closure/s.
Grant Thornton has had a few recent rounds of layoffs. Any other consulting companies going through the same?
Does anyone know what the severance policy/payout is at GT? I have looked on K-Source and see nothing related to that. I know they have one...

Anyone else a landlord on a condo unit? Any recommendations for landlord condo insurance? Do I need to look specifically for an insurer that provides this specific plan or do most insurers have an option for landlord condo?
Is it appropriate to ask to flex time off if I’ve been working “OT”/long hours for a project? I’m junior IHC & new to the job (though I interned at the company for 1.5 years before becoming IHC). The company has a relaxed culture and good work life balance. Example: my coworkers (non-attorney) will typically just announce that they’re flexing on x day because of x reason. When I started as In House Counsel, my original GC told me to pick my schedule, and was fine with my 8-4 choice (cont)
Has anyone recently interviewed with Verily? Any guidance on what to expect in an interview for a TPM role ?
Up for Manager promo in ~18 months and need to pass a certification (most likely CISA). However recently I’ve realized what I’m doing now is not for me long term and want to get my MBA to pivot. Worth it to go straight for GMAT studying instead of certification given the short timeline?
Hey 🐠 buddies, serious advice question, really would appreciate you all's thoughts. I'm interviewing at a very small boutique firm that has some pretty decent sized clients. What are some risks and questions I should be asking myself and the new firm about moving over from D to them? Is this a dangerous move? Have any of you done something similar? It's a 30% pay increase and pretty good benefits package. I do tech implementations of all sorts, including AWS stuff, healthcare, whatever really.
What's the best path to P&L ownership role at fortune 1000 by age 30? Doable? Ideally some C suite spot by mid to late 30s.

Help! I’m a decent teacher but admin has a target on my back this year & NO ONE knows why. I’m receiving my second write-up for an absolutely ridiculous reason (my rep agrees that it’s total crap but they manipulate the wording just-so to make it sound legit), but a third & I can be fired. I have to finish the year where I am to have my student loans forgiven. I’m terrified to go to work every day. A large part of my future is on the line & I’m stuck. It’s so unjust but I have no recourse.
I've consistently held a job with no gaps since I was 12 years old. I'm about to be 28 this year and doing pretty well for myself. I have this fear of being let go/fired from my job., I'm at a.....
Are there any openings in Accenture for someone of Non IT background ? (Eng Hons + Mass communication and Corporate Communication/ Public Relations background ) ?
I wish I was more confident. I’m a newbie but having a hard time being confident in the answers I give to other attorneys. I find myself second guessing myself or feeling dumb. The fact is that I really don’t know anything yet so I think it’s normal. But other people are very good at faking it. I’m just not. Advice?
May 2020 grad here: slight concern about finding a job post grad has grown into a full blown terror after seeing mass layoffs and hiring freezes. Any suggestions or moral support would be appreciated!
Thinking about moving to Los Angeles. What’s the best neighborhood/area for someone who’s a foodie, wants to be relatively close to the beach, safe neighborhood and does not have a car?
Any 🐠 from Alix Partners? Got a hiring manager reach out to me for a Director position. Curious if anyone could shed some light on the interview process - she indicated an IQ test among other things..
Has anyone jumped from a B4 SM/Dir role to a young technology startup ? Can you please give insight about the experience (role, comp, wlb, culture)? Thanks!
