It was a no-brainer for any position resembling clerical or supporting. USDA went from 29 agencies and offices with public affairs staff down to one centralized main office. The new self-entitled Public Affairs Director lasted 4 months and now he is gone. All he wanted to know was who could do his timesheet, take and pick up his laundry and do other tasks government employees don’t do. Now press releases are done via AI. Needless to say, they are horribly written. Now 4-H Barbie (Brooke Rollins) is selling USDA buildings and sending employees to 5 RED states with less pay and no moving cost. Only 2k employees will remain in DC. She claims they are going to be closer to the farmer when 90% of USDA employees are outside the DMV already. Watch your grocery bill continue to rise with no employees to plant and pick fruits and veggies and none to inspect meats, eggs, etc.They are being picked up by ICE.
If I were offered the buyout, I would take it in a heartbeat.
I would have been very skeptical of taking the buyout had I been in that position. I'd have ethical reasons for not wanting to just walk away. But I also would have been very skeptical that the offer could be trusted and would be honored.
I am with everyone else. I definitely would have taken the buyout. I am surprised not more people did.
