Retail workers are often overworked and underpaid. The staff shortages that you are experiencing are just another example of this. It is exhausting to have to work overtime to cover shifts, but at least you are all able to make sure that the store is covered. Hopefully, the staff shortages will be resolved soon and everyone can get some much needed relief.
Right now, we have enough personnel, but every once in a while, we have an outage and work overtime. I think it is something common in the industry. In a while, it will be solved and then later on it will happen again.
We are way understaffed and the boss refuses to pay overtime. It's often just one of us on the floor when it used to be 3.
Staffing currently isn’t the issue, the labor we are able to use is. Even though I have the personnel needed, we are not given the hours to give out. Myself and other salary employees are working 60-70hpw and my full time hourly associates are working 25-30hpw.
