Hi, this is a bit early but thought y’all might have some good insight. I’m exiting my current startup & have two offers on the table 1. A successful small startup in NYC doing PE/niche executive recruiting and 2. a fairly reputable PE consulting group in Austin. I’m going through the recruitment process at McKinsey for a middle/back office role (capabilities for a really cool space) but by the time I hear back, one of my offers won’t be on the table. Need advice. Currently at $142k base. 3 years and 1 month left before I max out of H1b. Just got my PWD issued through current employer though their immediate reaction is subtly letting me know they’re not in a hurry to start recruitment. Got an offer today for $160k base. Similar role, both are good teams, etc. Do I politely decline and see my GC process through or accept and get more money? Feel like current employer will drag their feet as long as they can for retention purposes.

Baby furniture. What is everyone doing? FTM and trying to figure out if it’s worth investing in very expensive nursery furniture. We were looking at the Natart furniture collection and the Silva collections. These both come in at about $2000-$2400. The furniture is high quality and grows with the child. Alternatively I could go the lower end route at get everything for like $800. Is that wise? I hear horror stories about low quality and paint chipping from the baby teething on the crib.
