$800 a month just from subscriptions?! I have tracked every single spend over the past year which has been incredibly eye-opening. First to go is my morning Starbucks habit. I cancelled Prime a couple of months ago so that I'm less likely to make impulsive Amazon purchases. I have to cut down on food delivery too, but I don't want to haha.

I get it! I don’t want to cook after work either. Sunday meal prep may be the answer.
I did this myself a month ago. I'm down to about $90 in subscriptions per month, which honestly isn't all that bad for me. The other thing I've been doing that helps a lot is buying as much of my groceries as I can from Costco. I don't know what prices are like around you all, but Publix has gotten ridiculously overpriced. Like $80 for maybe 5 days worth of food for myself and two small kids. I spend way more on every Costco trip, but I have to make them so infrequently that it works out to be a big money saver.

I’m doing Costco too! I’m lucky that I moved recently and Costco is really close. I’ve been getting essentials and even my eggs and milk there now. Now I run out of eggs and milk less, buying in bulk ensures that I go to the grocery store less often which helps me save more too!

Dude, $800 a month?! That’s insane. Congrats, seriously. That’s like giving yourself a massive raise without working an extra minute. Feels amazing, right? I’m genuinely jealous in the best way.I did the same purge a couple weeks ago and it wasn’t quite as heroic as yours, but I still freed up a decent chunk. Here’s what I axed or downgraded:Dropped YouTube Premium (family plan was $22/mo). I barely watch on TV anymore, and the ads aren’t that bad on my phone. → $264/year saved.
Killed my Cloud storage upsell—went from 2TB iCloud back to the free 50GB + Google One for photos only. → $10/mo saved.
Downgraded Spotify to the ad-supported version. I mostly listen in the car or while working anyway, ads are fine. → $11/mo.
Finally cancelled that random news app bundle thing (Apple News+, Washington Post digital, etc.) that I never open. → ~$15/mo.
Said goodbye to the “pro” version of like three different productivity apps I don’t even use anymore → another $10-15/mo.
Total for me is probably $70-80 a month, which isn’t $800 but still feels like found money. Next on the chopping block is honestly rethinking my phone plan—I’m on some legacy unlimited thing that’s way more than I need now that I’m home more.
You’ve inspired me to do another sweep though. I know there’s more creeping in there (maybe that random gaming subscription or the unused Adobe thing…).
helpful!!!!!!!
We dropped Direct TV. Just have the apps that I watch. I combine errands to save gas and wear on the car. Shop sales for groceries.

One thing that has saved me a lot in the last couple years is my hybrid car. I plug it in the garage and very rarely go to the gas station anymore.

Same here! I recently switched to the cheapest mobile tariff . It’s great to save money where we can! I’m thinking of looking at subscriptions I don’t use much.

I went thru all subscriptions and deleted
most of them!
