After job searching for 7 months, I’m finally leaving my toxic nonprofit job for something new!! This has been an incredibly difficult workplace. They record our laptops, cameras, and audio! No privacy during work hours and every move monitored. We’re treated like crepe and the people we are assigned to help receive no help from this non profit!! Terrible data factory non profit. They provide no help to these people in need and I’m so glad to finally leave.

Has anyone tested positive with COVID while pregnant? My spouse just tested positive and I’m staying someplace else to keep safe. But curious how worried I should be if I end up getting the virus?

I have a few questions for people in consulting roles (both external/internal).

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

1) does MBA actually improve someone's chance in getting those roles?
2) are there any good Canadian MBA programs you'd recommend?

Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. First day was yesterday. Had no communication about when or where to show up, sat in an empty office for about half an hour before a couple people finally showed. No phone call or email. Sent an email to the founder, no response. I could easily get my old job back if wanted.

I currently work at a large research institution and am in the process of getting retroactively reclassified to a new title (Long story but my PI is cheap and routinely pays ppl the bare minimum so now the Union is helping me w/ a retro reclass.) Reclass can take 2 - 6 months to process. Meanwhile, I am interviewing for industry job. If I get an industry job, what do I do if my reclass isn’t processed yet? I want the title and the money owed which may be about $15000- 20000.
