After years of working on SOX controls, I want to throw my laptop every time I hear the words “internal audit.” But somehow, that’s exactly where recruiters keep funneling me. I know it’s a natural next step, but it feels like a career graveyard at this point. I want to move toward roles that are more dynamic, but I also don’t want to ignore what I’ve actually built. How do you avoid getting pigeonholed without pretending your whole résumé doesn’t exist?

I applied for a job and received an offer from my client. 15k+ bump in salary, better benefits/remote work, and responsibilities will give me exposure to all areas of the organization (start up).
