Then you stay home and commiserate
Sorry - I misinterpreted your question 😅
My law school bf and I watched a movie the day results came out. I was too nervous to check for myself so he checked for me. It worked out fine. If I failed I still would have preferred hearing from him.
It's really rough if you're in the office when they come out, I don't know how people do it.
Hopefully both of you pass. Regardless, you should be happy for the other. Failing is not the end of the world— though it will feel that way until you pass it.
My husband was a year ahead of me so a bit different, but we stayed out late the night before results so he woke up to results the next day. 10/10 recommend. My results didn’t come out until noon, but he gave me space bc I asked for it. He didn’t want space. Communicate how you guys want to deal with it and respect what the other wants.
My best friend and her boyfriend lived together while they got their results and they both were in separate rooms with doors shut to get results. They both passed, but she mentioned after that she wished they had discussed what to do because they both had a period where they were too nervous/worried to go to each others room to check.
My law friends and I set up a plan that we would text in the group chat that we passed and if someone didn’t respond, that was the signal to give them some space. Helped avoid any awkwardness of not knowing and made it easier to respect folks space post bar.
Moral of the story, make a game plan before results come out.
