…for me, I’m 57… and I think if I can stay employed 5 more years (and if Social Security is still a thing) I could do it at 62. I’m pretty sure I won’t be desired in this biz past then anyways!

I’m 56, so I should be gone in 9 years. But I’m GenX, so I’ll probably work until I drop.
I’m 50… and ditto.
I’m 37 and personally see this job being feasible and/or sustainable for ~5 years in this market so god knows what my remaining 20 years of work looks like. Yikes.
51 F (mentioning my gender cause we have less shelf life in this industry)- working on an exit strategy now. Using some of my IRA to start a biz way outside of the ad world. You can roll it over into a new biz without taking any penalties / tax hits. Expecting to be out in 18 mos.

What is retirement?

52. I don’t anticipate ever retiring. Probably gonna work the day of my funeral.
Fortunately I look at least 10 years younger and my work is still fresh and I’m still a good creative by most standards. I’m a freelancer and I don’t anticipate going FT at an agency again. Much less at a holding company. But never say never… These are uncertain times and nobody knows what the future holds. I’m trying to see all this chaos and change as an opportunity and working with my creative partner on a business model that we think will work in this economy and uncertain business climate. We’ll see!
