In my experience four 90 min pts a day. At my previous job we typically blocked 90 min slots for OT/PT unless the pt couldn’t tolerate the long slot. The hospital I work at now has an IPR and schedules 1 60 min session and 1 30 min session for each patient. They also want progress notes for each encounter which ends up being 8 notes for 4 patients. I personally think it’s crazy and not very efficient so I try to stay on the acute hospital side as much as possible. Previously we had a consistent caseload and carried our patients or had a set person to cover. Now if the census is high they pull from acute care and have patients that could see a new therapist everyday. Really depends a lot on the structure of the unit. I had a coworker who previously worked with a contract company that covered IPR and she saw more patients but had to treat concurrently or group. I’m used to individual sessions unless the patient needs a cotx with PT.
5-7 patients a day, depending if I have a group or concurrent. 1 hour sessions each. At my facility, one day OT sees the pt for 2 hours and PT for 1 and then the next day it switches. If the pt sees SLP too, then it’s 1 hour each a day. 1 hour of documentation time split between the middle and end of the day.
