Coming out of UG, I accepted my first job b/c I thought I had to based on status of other interviews. I ended up quitting after 8 weeks in favor of an opportunity I perceived to be better, but took longer to get. 7 months into the new gig, I am NOT happy. Considering this is technically my second job out of school, how long should I stick around before trying to leave without looking like a total scumbag opportunist?

I have 2 offers to consider. What makes more sense?
Full time role with 3 weeks vacation and benefits or contract opportunity with 20k more in potential salary.

Little background, I have been a loyal employee and have only worked at 1 firm for about 6 years now. Looking for more growth and obviously money.

Need some suggestions on what to consider and any pitfalls that I should be aware of.

Thanks

Capgemini I joined sometime back at D1 level , I do technical work most of time like coding, dev, testing etc.
I have worked a lot in my 14 years and still have required skills needed for the work. I don't have energy to slog any further. Moreover I get anxiety when I see junior level people doing same work as me and earning more or same.
I feel cannot sit longer hrs due to back issues and other health issues and family commitments.

Can I change to management side without risking my job .

Hi all I have created a separate page to talk more about money! Its called occupational therapy pay! Join in! :)

What should an outpatient occupational therapist working with the adult population be making yearly? Important to consider: clinician is doing house calls (Medicare Part B services)

We need to unionize and hold more leverage for pay. There’s no reason we should be managed by contractors and large scale companies. Not only is it unfair pay, but it’s bad for our communities. Can you imagine your local car ‘mechanic’ operating under the same structure..

Anyone here a DOR? I have an opportunity to oversee a therapy department for a transitional care facility with independent, assisted, sub-acute, LTC, and a memory unit on sight. They are looking to hire 9 additional therapists to make up the team. Seems like a good opportunity as it is with a non-profit hospital organization contracting into the facility. My time would be split 50/50 between treating and management. Thoughts on must ask questions during my 2nd interview? Salary?

Hi there - looking to understand when “new grad” isnt a term that can be used for salary negotiations I.e. 1 year of practice, 3 years of practice?

Hi! New on here and this is my first post. I graduated a couple of years ago and am on my second OT position. I am currently PRN at an inpatient mental health setting in an urban area of northeast Ohio. My question is related to hourly pay. If I were to switch from a PRN to part time/full time regular employee position what would be the appropriate pay change to expect? My PRN hourly is currently 48.99/hr...

I am an OT practicing at a Pediatric Outpatient Clinic in Illinois. I have 15 years of experience with Peds and certified in both Sensory Integration & Feeding Therapy. My current pay is at $75k. Hello all! New grad OT looking at taking a position as a pediatric home health therapist. Starting is $55 per visit and $115 for evals/re-evals. Is this pretty standard?

Hi everyone! I started a bowl to talk about negotiating strategies and pay! Want to make sure we are reaching our financial goals! The bowl is called “occupational therapy pay” feel free to join in!

Is it too much to ask a home health company for someone to shadow/orient? I was just hired PRN and that was something I asked for during the hiring process and the recruiter agreed. Never heard back and it’s been several weeks yet keep getting texts from the schedule if office to see patients. Is this typical for home health or a red flag? I have only worked in SNF and acute so I am new to HH plus this company specializes in lymphedema therapy. I am a CLT but want just a little but of training.
