For sure warn the other individual that it is a very intense period of your life and a big time commitment and that’s the nature of the industry. Hopefully your team is good at being as flexible during busy season as much as they can - also if it’s a fairly new relationship - 100% make it aware you’re not ignoring them or you’re not being short you’re just under stress/time constraints! Communication is key!

This is my BFs first busy season, so I’m interested in how my BF is going to react. Basically, he knows I love what I do and I get a lot of satisfaction from the type of work I do. He’s very supportive and tries to cushion the busy season blows.

My suggestion is to let them know what’s probably going to happen. The late hours, the staying in the office late. Try and set up one night out of the week where just the 2 of you spend together (schedule permitting).

IMO, it’s good to have someone to mentally support you during busy season. Have a good holiday break and don’t forget to submit your timesheet :-)
