Hi! I’m a senior recruiter with 8 years of agency experience looking to make a move into recruiting management. What can I do to set myself apart and prep for the role? Any recruiting action items or impacts I can take back and implement on my team?

Would it be inappropriate to email the would-be manager directly about a position update?

I heard from the recruiter in early June but after a month now no new updates after telling me another recruiter would reach out soon. 2 voicemails and an email, no response.

I interviewed for the position back in March so I have met him. The company instituted a hiring freeze soon after which lifted June 1. I'm just unsure what to do besides wait at this point.

I have asked for a referral at CSG. How do they pay? Similar to indian service companies? Anyone working there?

I've go an offer for a position as an SRE at Google Dublin. Even though I'll be losing some base salary, and a level from where I am at Microsoft, I'm considering moving. However, I was hoping somebody working at Google in Dublin could share which benefits you have to compare with (currently at Microsoft we have health insurance, life insurance, pension plan, subsidized meals).
Also, does anybody know if Google Dublin pays for the on call?

Any interview tips for Senior Unity Developer role ?

Had a really great initial interview with a recruiter for a CS role at a company I’m dying to work for! The recruiter went over next steps which would included scheduling an interview with the hiring manager next. I was interviewed on a Tuesday and he said he’d get back about the inteveriw with the hiring manager at the end of the week, or latest Monday. I also followed up with a thank you email after the interview. It’s now the following Friday (almost 9 days later) Should I follow up or wait?

Do any entry level paralegals out there use EverLaw? Is it easy to learn and does anyone have recommended resources for managing e-discovery? Im starting a new role that is heavy in e-discovery and need to hit the ground running.

Is it just me, or is it common for former union bosses who go into corporate management to have an inherent inclination try to treat their employees the same way they would treat their employer in their previous role? Anyone else have a similar experience?

Finishing 90 days in new role and I am doing really, really well. The only thing is that I get the vibe that people in management and my peers feel that I’m arrogant. I take feedback well or so I think. I ask questions when I don’t know things and I admit and own things when I’m wrong. The only thing is that I tend to like to work on my own and it’s because I have an introverted personality, I think. Am I fucking up? Is it envy? Or am I arrogant?

I started a new job in May. I took a step down from Paralegal to Legal Asst. At my interview I was told that to them the title was interchangeable & I would be doing Paralegal work, especially considering that I knew how to do the heavy Paralegal work. I’m glad there’s finally a list like this. But it’s so obvious these were done by PR people at agencies because of the blatant display of Titleism. Show me a list of 40 over 40 of people voted on by their peers or others in the industry. The ones that are crushing it but either didn’t get the fancy title or turned down the title because they also want work-life balance.

I got written up due to a millennial aged co-worker whose feelings I accidentally hurt during a meeting. I didn’t call the person any derogatory names or shout or do anything out of the ordinary. I just pointed out some strategic errors that would have effected the deliverables. I was told by my supervisor that people of this persons age don’t respond well to criticism and that I need to find another way to communicate when they’ve failed to complete a task properly. Anyone have any suggestions?
