Any medical coders out there? Are you certified? Is it worth getting the certificate and leaving a job I've been at for 7 years? The pay rate I'm at now is about 24/hr. Currently, I'm going back to school, but it isn't working out and I'm still having problems making sense of it. So my thinking is getting a medical coder certificate and then just getting a medical coder job with my current company because they should have an opening by then. I just don't know if it's a good idea or not.

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day.
