I just accepted an offer from them. I am reneging immediately. Back to audit for me 😫
You better be kidding!
There was only a round during last performance review. FDD is exceeding targets the last few months, i don’t think there are layoffs right now.
Here we go - “exceeding targets” when the last few years the results suffered, multiple rounds of layoffs, but soon we will be back to “record growth”!!
I’ve seen staff through SM separated over the past few weeks, all involuntary. They are keeping it quiet but it is happening at EY. I can’t speak to other firms.
I have heard nothing about this. There were probably 10-15 cuts after YE roundtables back in July/August ish.
there’s layoffs at ey ?

Haven’t seen anything beyond the performance based separations coming out of the normal year end process
And here I was hoping EY would be hiring in their FDD group soon (haven’t seen any postings)
It would be wild but not unimaginable. Big firms are run poorly with higher ups making decisions that make zero sense at a practice level. This results in big firms who are perpetually behind market in hiring / pay decisions. It could be that EY FDD got assigned X number of attritions from higher ups who have no clue what is happening with the market.
Like they’re doing layoff rn? Or the “performance -related” one earlier after YE?!?!
Who else can confirm what OP said? Anyone from EYP M&A that can confirm?
There was a RIF over the summer targeted primarily at experienced SMs who were not in the pipeline. Have not heard about anything else other than normal course performance-based separations.
