Damn bro if you don’t understand the whole deal process on your first deal as a brand new staff 1 then I’ve got some bad news for you bud.

See ya on the breadline, pal. You’re toast
Damn man... I would start prepping your resume for a new job
The McDonald’s down my block is hiring. Tons of former clueless Staff 1 over there
Short answer is yes it does.
Yes it will get easier, it typically takes 6 months to ramp up and understand FDD/ deal process and it should take about a year to make sense of it.
Thanks guys!!! Even to the sarcasmos ✨
It does get better. Hopefully your manager is willing to teach you. I'm on my 3rd deal now and I definitely have better understanding than my first one. Still a lot to learn, but be curious and ask questions will help you learn very fast.
Dude, super normal. It takes a long time to see how things click together.
This job is always a challenge and there’s always more things to learn
While things should get easier the more you do them, like in most aspects of life, I think you may actually be missing some key foundational concepts that would help piece together the logic behind the schedules that you’re doing.
If your company doesn’t provide training all this info is so non proprietary these days that there are free courses in FDD fundamentals on YouTube. Train away young Jedi.

Just be patient with yourself. Take copious notes, ask questions and take some additional time in reviewing past deliverables to gain an additional depth of understanding. It’ll come.
This happened to all of us. We always think our seniors/managers/directors are better than us but it’s just a matter of experience, once you get it, you see that not all of them are that bright unfortunately. I have created a course (aiming to upload the ENG version next week) and prep sessions about FDD. You will get there without any course/prep but if you want to get there faster feel free to book one session, let me know it’s you and I’ll give you a 20% discount: dealsinterviewexperts.com
