Any parents here who’ve sent their kids who have specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalcula, all 3) to a specialized school versus public? Was it life changing for kid and were you eventually able to main stream them? Anyone in NYC who has options on any of the schools here? Thanks!!

If I were in your situation, I would move to a lower cost of living state and get my kid enrolled in a specialized private school. They won't have enough one-on-one time to survive in public school with their learning needs.

I have these learning needs and went to private school growing up. My elementary school had a lot of support, but my parents did separate tutoring for me. That one on one separate tutoring was definitely the most impactful

We did this. Two years in and it has not been life changing. I think we saw better results with a private tutor while he was in public school

No, we are in Florida. But some parents of kids in our kids class feel differently so could be child dependent too

I’m in Australia so it’s probably different here. If you can afford it do it. Both of my boys have learning difficulties (ASD and intellectual impairment) and special school changed our lives.
