Any public finance folks have experience with NABL or CDFA courses? I would like to pivot into that work and am considering the CDFA webinars or the NABL in person foundations course and have to pick one and just wondering if one is a better product

NABL is considered the benchmark for programming, most attorneys in the industry attend their annual conference. Their programming is good.

Thanks! I’ve heard plenty about them, but started getting emails from this other group so was curious if anyone had any experience with them and whether their stuff is any good

+1 to NABL. Essentials is the entry level conference. You’ll be drinking from a fire hose at first. I’m not familiar with the other org.

Awesome, thanks! I have a fair bit of municipal experience as well as some tax background so I’m hoping it’s not too nuts at first, but I’m glad they have something for folks newer to the practice!

What is the salary of newly joined Tax Associate in PwC IAC ?

Hi Fishers,

Wanted a small help,
I recently got an offer from Telstra but in the Offer Letter its written- I am pleased to confirm your new offer of employment with Telstra Global Business Services LLP., an entity within the Telstra Group.

So does it mean that Telstra Services will be providing service to some other client or it provides services to its own product?

I received an offer from IBM Bangalore. However I saw openings at my preferred location Kochi only after the interviews. I called the HR after getting their point of contact mail and I asked if it's possible to switch. They said I'm already tagged to a project and that they'll check from their end if it can be done.

Anyone knows the chances of location being changed after receiving the offer and getting tagged to a project?

I have not yet accepted the offer.

I'm a junior associate. A couple people have left my small firm and I'm now the lone associate at our main office. I've now been told I am "temporary senior associate or permanent or partner whatever that results in." Please send help. I'm just a baby attorney still.

I’m so bad at writing the background/ facts section for briefs… it always gets heavily edited and no one is giving me constructive feedback other than “advocate more”. In contrast, my legal argument section is generally without edits. For context, first defense lit job post appellate clerkship. Is this normal?? Any tips for getting better other than “advocating more”?

Does anybody work in a rule for a litigation finance or legal funding company who doesn't hail from a big law firm in background? Basically I have a lot of interest in the area have read a book about it in my free time and was wondering what sort of entry level opportunities I should be seeking.

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? For reference, the firm has a 1900 billable hour requirement and the partner said I would have “no problem” fulfilling that based on the work they have.

First year litigator still waiting for that summer slowdown everyone keeps talking about….at this point I could take 2 months off and still hit the billable target. I was told there would be “ebbs and flows” but this has just been a 9 month barrage with no end in sight

Is there an appropriate way to turn down an assignment because it is non-billable? Two of the partners I work for keep asking me to write client bulletins and articles with them, which is great, but now I’m starting to worry about meeting my billable hours requirement.
