I’m from Southern California. Is this what a snow day feels like? But it’s just gonna keep snowing for 1+ months?

Not like a snow day at all in my opinion. During a snow day you go out and play in the snow/ go sledding, come back inside light a fire, drink hot chocolate and look out at the pretty snow. Also almost always involves drinking games with your friends. Definitely not social distancing.

like

Absolutely not. Snow day is work free. At least when I was growing up.

like

No. Snow days do not involve worry about what the future holds.

like

Hahaha. That’s a fantastic analogy. Yes, being forced to stay home is kind of like a snow day. No where to go and can’t get out!

I wish snow days cancelled work up here in Minnesota! Still trying to figure out how many feet of snow it takes to be encouraged to stay home.

How possible is it to build a US-based career doing global public sector work while not being in New York or DC?

Currently a Manager at Accenture in Public Sector. Living in a progressive US city with a few direct flights to Europe, but definitely not New York or DC. PhD in public affairs. Actually I'm on the hiring roster for a P3 role at the UN.

Considering some life choices that would keep me living where I am though. Debating if this would kill hope of global work.
