WSJ has a decent newsletter that’s pretty digestible. Morning Brew as well.
Depends on what level of sophistication you want as well.
Second morningbrew. If you work for MS, you can follow Andrew Sheets or Mike Wilson for their research and thinking. If you work for MS wealth mgmt, CIE/ is your best friend
IBD/WSJ
May not be the most sophisticated but Exec Sum is nice. You can read it in 5 minutes, it’s just headlines and click on links to articles you want to read further.
Financial Times! They're the best in the business. They have a short daily podcast too
Morning Brew or the Arbitrage Andy newsletter
If you’re still with MS, I’m sure Research has a number of products with that overview.
I think the he Saxo Market Call podcast is a solid free resource. It’s 20-25 minutes covers macro economics, major asset markets (FX, fixed income, commodities), and some high profile company events. It usually drops by 6am Eastern.
Most the paid newsletters are more geared for trade idea generation and less about general market news. Peter Bookvar or Jim Bianco probably have some of the better paid options that aren’t super expensive or really focused on setups.
Tons of options once you get into this space and lots of people have their own angle or specialty. You’ll have to explore a bit what you’re after. I’d look at the recent guests in podcasts like MacroVoices or the Hedgeye Investor Summits. They have many guests who have newsletters focused on macro. Listen the interviews and see if it’s POV you value.
Follow as many financial experts as you can on LinkedIN or Twitter. They will send out daily updates. Also Bloomberg is always a reliable source
Bloomberg's "Five Things You Need to Know to Start Your Day" newsletter. I read this every day before going in to understand what could be potentially affect the market that day or the next.
There are probably a bunch of daily emails you can receive much like that of the CNN daily update emails. At least I'm sure you can find weekly ones
MarketWatch's "Need to Know". This is a daily newsletter that provides a roundup of the top news and events in the markets and the economy. It includes links to articles and analysis from MarketWatch's team of reporters and editors.
