Those of you in restructuring (I’m in banking side) - what role in RX is the most interesting in your mind and why? IB, Law, Consulting, Hedge Fund, PE

In the late stages of an interview for an in-house role and just got referred to my ideal role at Google. The hiring manager is very interested. I’m afraid I’ll be in a difficult position where I accept an offer and leave within two months or not accept the offer and not get the job at Google.

My joining date is NoV 21st, can any one provide me some details.. Cab facility..? Allowances any .? Reallocation allowance..? Shift allowance..? Joining bonus..? I have one more offer from other company, let me know which company is best to join regarding the career growth.!

Asking for a friend:
My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.

Friend (no consulting experience) is considering an offer from Guidehouse (senior consultant as he has experience in federal health care): what’s the culture like? What about salary trajectory, is that standardized by level? Any pointer/red flags on culture and wlb? Exit opportunities? Anything would help, TIA!

General corporate in NY looking to lateral into tech transactions at one of the EC/VC firms. I’ve heard that I may get a class cut if I make the move but I’m ok with that. My worry is that EC/VC firms are crazy busy work differently from general corp, I also won’t have control over my hours, and potentially worse based on how billing differs (block billing on a few clients vs having to work with 15 or more startups). Is the same true for tech trans or IP group?

How is everyone’s workload? I was insanely busy the last month but the past week or so has slowed significantly.

We have a big project going on and I am the only point person(initiate it, did lot of work, and knows the deets well), seems like my mgr wants to get a headcount. But I want to use this opportunity to get promoted, how can I get this across? Mgr is new(they fired my old mgr), mgr’s mgr is new too(re-org). So not sure if I should/can make a case, or how.

Are cover letters important if they don’t ask for one? There are so many job postings and applicants I can’t tell if they would be beneficial to show effort or just a waste of time to write with how little time I assume people are looking at applications with the mass hiring going on.
