Anyone a research or staff attorney at a state court? Longtime biglaw litigator that needs off of the corporate treadmill. I just want to research and get things right instead of fighting every day.

The New York State Court system posts all of its jobs on its website. Check it out. I left big law years ago and it was the best thing I ever did when I joined the state. Your big law training is exactly what the system needs. Good luck!

Hi all - I'm on a £100-110k base + bonus at a tier 2 firm. This is in the region where personal allowance for tax starts eroding away..
Wondering what options I have to make this as tax efficient as possible (legally), considering a salary sacrifice pension and student loan.
Also what are you investment recommendations? Stocks and Share ISA? What are the good alternatives?

Maybe just cover one and they can do the other if they want? Don’t want to be rude if it’s expected but also don’t want to blow our budget… any perspective on the “norm” appreciated!

Negotiating a settlement. I’m at $10k, opposing counsel is at $20k. My client won’t go higher than $15k. OC has come down to 17.5k and says his client won’t budge from that. Do I offer 12.5k so we can hopefully meet in the middle at 15k? Is that how the settlement game is played? Seems dumb we can’t just say let’s meet in the middle now and be done with this. (I’m a first year, first time negotiating a settlement on my own and I don’t want to screw this up!)
