Hi Everyone, Started my career in government 5 years ago working in an operational role, then focussed on HR for 3 years working my way up to a middle manager role in HR as a business partner and completed my Level 7 CIPD. I don’t think HR or government is for me anymore and looking to find something new, now 24 feel I have a lot of transferable skills and knowledge but worried about private companies in other professions taking me seriously. 1YOE medical device NPI Lead looking for salary perspective

Mechanical engineering grad, joined a medical device startup that I had done co-ops at. 8mo into full-time, pivoted from engineering into more of an operations role doing new product introduction (NPI), now with 3 direct reports.

The combination of startup+medical device+NPI seems very unique and I'm struggling to find salary comparables. Currently making 75k but it feels very low given my new responsibility and impact. Any advice?

So, I got through to final stages at a management consultancy where they all ‘loved me’ apparently. Job being advertised at £50-70k, they said I have potential & if they do want to offer me a role (within 2 wks as snr mgt team all on holiday wtf) would be a starting salary of £45k with salary increases (timeline of this increase tbd) in accordance with my performance. They’ve tried recruiting internally but can’t even get anyone past the first round. I feel like rejecting on principle! Thoughts?

I put a lot of efforts making friends and always try to be with my friends whenever they need. But, I didn’t always get invited to the party while guys they complained a lot and they hate…those guys are often invited. Maybe attraction is a part of problem in making friendship? Because the guy I hang out have big preference with certain race and he wants to be friend with them more than me. And it seems to insult me sometimes…but let’s be positive… maybe culture, language and other? I’m sad tho.

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). Hi, I have a collaborative interview(second interview) tomorrow with a tech startup for a product marketing manager position. I haven’t experienced a collaborative interview before and I’m not sure what to expect. How should I prepare?

Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. First day was yesterday. Had no communication about when or where to show up, sat in an empty office for about half an hour before a couple people finally showed. No phone call or email. Sent an email to the founder, no response. I could easily get my old job back if wanted.

What would you do in this situation?

My head is beginning to not hurt and that worries me. I am used to banging it against a wall the entire day (theoretically). I work with people that I struggle to communicate with and/or they are extremely uneducated about various things that I used to think were the basics. I grew up poor and paid for everything myself; Money drives me. Where do I even begin to look to know what I should be doing?Sales is too easy, I need a challenge. I am good at inventing solutions. Anyone have any friends who successfully pivoted out of advertising? I know a handful of people who are half-trying to, but I can’t think of anyone who has made a clean break, on their own terms, into something that appears to be making them feel more fulfilled than they were in the ad biz. So they continue freelancing in order to make a living, while not gaining much traction elsewhere.

Ok so I was in a job search support group today and the issue came up about one's aims when job hunting. They tell me it's not about me it's about what the employer wants.

Thing is for me it *IS* about me. The employer is just a vehicle for me to have the lifestyle I want. Why can't we be real about why we want a job? I want to be stimulated by what I do and be paid well. If a job isn't increasing my market value and doesn't pay well I'm gonna wanna to leave. What can I say, I'm a bad actress.
