History repeats from time to time but still greed seems to conquer everyone. We should always stick to fundamentals. Bitcoin , GME , AMC ... let me say it again: in this fake battle between Reddit and hedge funds the only people at loss are the noob investors. Hedge fund money comes from many of our pension and retirement account so if hedge funds loose it is ultimately the common man that suffers.
The math is wonky, but Wifey and I spent $1M this year (including the 620k in loans initiated) - 700k house, 60k taxes, 70k boat, 40k car, 60k to finish attic, 50k stocks, 36k 401k...#opp.ofhumblebrag
My salary is 95k, 10% in 401k, save $1500 a month, renting, and single. I feel financially middle class despite being at least in the 80th percentile. Seems really hard to achieve the american dream.
I absolutely hate EY’s Fidelity 401k. Deloitte’s Vanguard answers the phone the moment you call. Meanwhile Fidelity I’ve been on hold for 20min+ and this is every time I call.
Would you retire if you had $4M in savings?
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but... -Buy used or cheap cars, nobody cares how ~sick~ your car is. Once your net worth is $1M+, buy whatever new car you want -GET YOUR EMPLOYER 401k MATCH -If you are not investing money, you are losing money (2% inflation per year) -Investing is not only for rich people & is not difficult. Google “total stock market index funds” pick a few, buy them every month, and HOLD ON TO THEM -Everything about personal finance can be learned on YouTube
26 and my 401K balance looks like my annual income 🙏🏻 feeling thankful and motivated to continue to play in this consulting game 🤓
To all you 90s kids that loved “emo / punk” bands, what bands do you still listen to and wish made a come back tour (or wish to see them live one more time before they retire)?
What do folks feel is a good enough nest egg to retire on as a partner, say at 60? Realize lots of caveats around this but I have heard $10M as a goal to aim for. Thoughts?
Anyone else feel broke? Wife and I collectively make ~250k, are debt free and save to our 401k's. neither come from wealthy families. Both don't drink or eat out much. Or have expensive shopping...
Is anyone using a service where they accept payments online (planning fees, monthly 401k fees, etc) where the client can pay using debit/credit card?
Can your 401k money be shown as proof of funds for your Canadian immigration application? The full amount or part amount?
Rate of return from previous employer with transamerica mix is nearing 15%. Most of my money from 401k and Roth etc tied up with Fidelity. Do I consolidate with Fidelity into ira or keep 2 separate?
Does anyone know what to do to deal with the pension taper tax in the UK? Opt out of pension scheme altogether or is there an optimal amount you can put in and not get the tax charge? So confused.
Can i withdraw my funds from my Roth IRA (contribution and growth) penalty free under the cares act? Or is that just 401k?
Having an issue with direct 401k rollover. I had an after tax portion with old plan and my new 401k plan now does not accept after tax rollovers. The check has already been issued to a state street bank & trust FBO [my name] and I can’t reissue to a new bank. Any tips on deposit this check to an IRA? Can I endorse to another bank even though I’m only FBO on the check?

Anyone from EY in OTS? I know it's M&A integration/ support work minus the strategy aspect (for the most part). Can anyone share insights on group culture, skills learnt, experience etc.?
And it's a late night again woohoo
So I'm super bummed cuz I thought I did amazing in my interview with KPMG but it seems like I got ghosted... I sent a thank you note, and a couple days later I sent a follow up email asking where my application was at in the process (already had a few interviews) and nothing. I was really hoping to get the job because I want to leave my job rn and this position seemed to be a perfect fit for me so it sucks that it seems like I didn't get it...
If anyone was wondering, I am the one who handed coats back to people who put them overhead. Fuck your entitled ass, it's the exit row.
